Big powerful corporations, like insurance companies, have invested tremendous time, energy, effort and money to promote their tort reform agenda that seeks to have personal injury and accident cases decided based on a hypothetical, general, stereo-typed and biased manner. However Alabama personal injury and accident lawyers realize that cases should be determined on their own individual merit by the facts and circumstances involved. This group of lawyers realizes that we must stand together and demand safe highways, workplaces and communities to live and grow in. They understand that those that violate the law and pose an unnecessary danger to our highways, work places and communities should be held accountable and be made to pay in full measure. Therefore, the Gartlan Injury Law is committed to helping educate the public regarding the law, including the truth about tort reform and the problems and dangers of tort reform and to help make the community safer.

In that light, the Gartlan Injury Law is pleased to offer a free book entitled David vs. Goliath: The Slingshot, Shepherd’s Bag, Five Smooth Stones and Invisible Armor You Need for Justice for those impacted by personal injury and accidents. Our book has been written to arm those impacted by personal injury and accidents with the necessary information to stand up and face the giant corporations.

Further, the Gartlan Injury Law is proud to make their Personal Injury and Accident Report Available, in an effort to educate the public and help make the community safer. The Gartlan Injury Law Personal Injury and Accident Report is 38 pages in length and answers 33 frequently asked questions related to Alabama personal injury and accident cases. This report is packed with valuable and practical information for anyone impacted by a personal injury and accident case. In this report, personal injury and accident lawyer, Aaron Gartlan, used some of their actual cases as examples to answer the questions and illustrate important aspects of the law that can drastically affect the value of a case. The Personal Injury and Accident Report serves to educate the people of this community including the truth about tort reform and the problems and dangers of tort reform and how to make this community a safer place.

The Gartlan Injury Law is also proud to host the Legal View, in an effort to educate the public and help make the community safer. The Legal View is a thirty minute television show that airs on Sunday nights at 10:30 on WDFX FOX 34 in Dothan, Alabama. On the program, Hogg and Gartlan interview a relevant guest regarding legal issues and current community events. The Legal Brief is a special segment of the broadcast where David and Aaron typically highlight an important aspect of personal injury and accident law, and they illustrate it with one of their cases. The Legal View serves as a free educational tool to the people of this community.

Additionally, the Gartlan Injury Law assisted in the presentation of a six hour continuing legal education seminar, for Alabama general practice attorneys on Friday July 13, 2012, at Troy University Dothan. This seminar was entitled David vs. Goliath: How to Survive and Defeat the Giant. The seminar focused on personal injury and accident cases and specifically the way to survive and defeat the giant insurance companies and big powerful corporations, in injury and accident cases. The attendees learned about Goliath and the danger he poses to the community, as well as the dirty tactics and tricks he employs to deny injury and accident victims justice. The attendees were taught that victory and survival is obtained through early and thorough trial preparation in each and every case, in an effort to prove and demonstrate liability, strategize injury and damage claims, overcome defenses, and add value to the case to maximize recovery. This puts the personal injury and accident lawyer law firm in the best position to prove and demonstrate that full compensation, in each case, serves as a means to protect the public by sending a message to people and businesses, that violate rules and expose the public to unnecessary danger, will be required to pay in full measure. The seminar was a giant success, and David and Aaron were glad to be a part of it, in an effort to educate the public and help make the community safer. The firm is currently working on plans for another effective seminar.

To further the effort of educating the public, David teaches paralegal courses as part of the Adult Continuing Education Program offered at Troy University’s Dothan campus. He has taught Legal Research and Legal Writing classes at Troy since 2003. This semester he is teaching a course that he developed called, “Preparing for Depositions and Trial.”

Aaron has been an adjunct instructor for Business Law at the Troy University Sorell College of Business, a Jones School of Law Mentor, a Jones School of Law Moot Court Competition Judge, and has spoken to students at career day at Kelley Springs Elementary School in Dothan.

The Gartlan Injury Law is committed to help educate the public regarding the law, in order to help make the community a safer place for everyone.
