What is Xarelto?

Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is a prescription anticoagulant (blood-thinning medication) and was approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on July 2011, for three primary uses: 1. to reduce the risk of blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat); 2. recovery from knee or hip surgery; 3. and to treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
